The small print, but bigger
It goes without saying, well perhaps not, but at Elmhurst we grow the sort of produce that we want to eat, and because our ‘small print’ makes such reassuring reading, we would like to present it to you as big print!
• Our meat contains no added water, no added colour, no added flavourings,
no preservatives, actually no additives whatsoever.
• Our animals are slow growing traditional breeds, who eat natural food containing no growth promoters, no hormones, no antibiotics and no meat derivatives.
• In the case of our sheep flock and beef herd, their diet is almost entirely of grass, which grows in our fields without any chemical interference.
• Traceability – all produce sold is from animals born and reared on the farm (chickens are slightly different – they are delivered to us on the day that they hatch!) We have very carefully selected the local abattoir and the butcher who complete the team.
